Katty Xiomara's collection offered us a life-size manifestation of porcelain princess, oddly reminiscent of the glassy-eyed dolls in extravagantly layered outfits my mom still collects (hi mom). The makeup played up the doll vibes with its puffy cloud bang, hand-painted eyes and brows, and glossy lips. The runway featured laser-cut leather bodices above chiffon blouses, ever-changing and infinitely patterned mid-calf sequin dresses, mounds of fur that exaggerated the shoulders and arms. She was dynamic in her use of scale, especially the melodramatic cuffs extending far past the fingertips or the furry bell sleeves and oversize pockets. My favorite part was probably watching the makeup artists create the curly bangs on girl after girl and watching the curls spring to life while blow drying and combing through. The aesthetic was genius and I could feel the energy running especially high during makeup because of it. Check it out.
